For instance, within the last ten years, Simon has advised an insolvency practitioner in relation to a claim for costs totalling in excess of £5.5 million and also represented one of the parties in relation to litigation arising out of the collapse of On-Digital and its subsequent effect on television sports rights in the United Kingdom. He has advised Solicitors and Insurers in relation to claims for costs arising out of the Clapham rail crash, haulage disputes and construction litigation including arbitrations. He has also worked with a well-known firm of Solicitors who specialise in sports litigation in two high profile sports arbitrations involving football and rugby teams and has recently advised as to the reasonableness of US Lawyers' fees in excess of $1 million arising out of a class action in Orange County, California and a US Justice Department investigation in Washington DC.
